Exchange programs

Every year, approximately 300 students from around the world choose to do their engineering exchange at INSA Lyon. Coming to INSA Lyon as an exchange student is an opportunity to pursue an engineering program with a multidisciplinary and humanistic approach in an institution that values diversity, open-mindedness, innovation and excellence.

With 130 student associations, various support services, on-site accommodation, and dining facilities, the INSA Lyon campus is an ideal place to study! INSA Lyon offers a wide range of courses in Science & Technology, from undergraduate level up to PhD. As an exchange student, you can choose to participate in:

• An Academic Exchange Program or a Double Degree, available in English or French, within one of our 9 engineering departments, with a duration of 1 semester or 1 academic year.
• A research project or internship, available in English or French, carried out under the supervision of a Department where international students can maintain their exchange student status and visa.
• A full IST Semester (Information Science & Technology), offered in English only, associated to a research attachment within one of the IST research laboratories.

INSA Lyon also provides you with the opportunity to study French as a Foreign language (FLE). Taught by a professional team, Summer/Winter schools and semester courses are available for all international students, even for those who opt for courses taught in English. A chance to improve your French language skills and learn about French culture.
